"Gabelli IPO launched - Fund firm finally gets to market By Craig Tolliver, CBS MarketWatch Gabelli Asset Management Inc. (GBL) announced Thursday that it sold six million Class A common shares through underwriters led by Merrill Lynch & Co. and Salomon Smith Barney at $17.50 per share to net $96 million after fees and expenses of the offering. Proceeds raised by the offering will be used to expand Gabelli's business through new investment product offerings, enhanced distribution and marketing of existing investment products, upgraded management information systems and strategic acquisitions, the firm said. Shares opened at 17 3/4 and inched ahead to 17 13/16 by the close of trading. Volume eclipsed 5.6 million shares." Congratulations!
