AR, I have the luxury of viewing a lot of things (related to these AHs in the White House) from a neutral perspective. It is true that I have a conservative bent in my thinking. But, I do not like the Republicans. I only see them as a lesser of the two evils. When right wing extremists propose legislatures to restrict the rights of even legal immigrants, it hits me personally and it hits me hard. However, knowing where they (like Pat Buchanan et al.) stand on such issues gives me a comfort zone in listening to their other view points. I will more likely trust their word than a snake called James Carville or an serial liar called Slick Wille.
Having said that, I view this whole drama as a perfect shame on US of A as a whole. 'cause, I looked-up at America as a country where law of the land is above ANY individual. People like Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi have made a mockery of democracy in India (so much for the cliche "largest democracy of the world.") Cases like Nagarwala (a cover-up for bank fraud allegedly committed by Indira Gandhi - ended in mysterious deaths of the lead figure Nagarwala and the investigating officers), Shaw-Banu (where basic rights of a Muslim divorced woman were taken away owing to the political pressure from religious groups), are examples of such mockery.
In one respect, Herr Clinton made a mockery of the intellect of the people of the whole world, not just US of A. I for one, can not forget the disappointment over the political stunt created by the democrats on this impeachment issue. Bipartisanship doesn't mean voting with the democratic doctrines. But that's what they say.
Mr. Clinton, Mr. Daschele (sp) and Mr. Gephard tell me sir, what shall I tell my 9 year old daughter who feels sad that she wasn't born in the US of A? Shall I tell her that it's OK honey, this is not the greatest nation on earth but it is just another banana republic where lying and fingering to your kith and kin, friends and the public is an acceptable practice? Yes, I feel sick of this - I have to let it out. |
