As a standing member International Association of Financial Engineers, a follower of the Journal of Financial Analysts, Journal of Finance and Jounal of Applied Finance, I get more than my fill academia, thank you. Many academicians have yet to admit that the efficient market theory is dead though, just like many practitioners fail to admit the shortcomings of beta. If you don't believe me, try visiting a few well known universities in NYC or the treasury departments of many of the Fortune 500.
