BB Robertson Stephens is seems to know something.. they wouldn't make such a call after a record up day right before earnings (well, at least i wouldn't if i wasn't sure)

14:20 ET Dell Computer (DELL) 91 15/16 -9 15/16 (-10%): --Update-- BB Robertson Stephens analyst Dan Niles expects direct selling by competitors, combined with competitive products, to continue pushing average selling prices (ASPs) lower; projects that total units will post at 2.2 mln vs estimate of 2.3 mln; says given company's robust growth over past 3 yrs, DELL should have plenty of reserves to meet Q4 estimate of $0.31; based on analyst's projection of slowdown in growth rate from 50s to 40s, Niles sets a near-term $80 price target, as multiple contracts from 50x calendar year 2000 earnings estimate to 40x.
