robert, i disagree. the option profit to the employee is compensation. the reason the price went up is b/c the employees were paid so well.

that is the theory, right?

you can't say we issue options as compensation in order to improve our results and then cry when your results are good and you have to pay for the options that got you the results in the first place. at least not with a straight face, right?

the company and shareholders are hurt. if i sell my stock to an employee for $10 when it is worth $110 then my company has lost out on the opportunity to reinvest that $100 into the business as something other than an employee stock option....
