MMV, thank you for your thoughtful post. Please tell your daughter not to be sad that she wasn't born in the USA, because she was born in India, the birthplace of one of the greatest civilizations on Earth, with a great culture, a great heritage, and much to be proud of. People from India seem to have a special gift for computers, for example. Many of this country's finest citizens were born in other countries. This is a nation of immigrants. I am part American Indian, so I may be more conscious than most that the rest of you guys are new-comers, it's just a matter of when. If you or she become American citizens, you will simply be, in my opinion, Americans, regardless of where you were born.
As for being ashamed of Clinton, we have lived through much shame from our politicians and managed to survive, and this too, shall pass. |
