Chuzz, Gore Vidal once said the strongest American emotion was and is envy. In my view that's what today is all about. People cannot stand to see the success that is Dell rubbed in their noses. There may be as many Dell haters out there as there are Clinton haters. Those who don't believe in the company feel they have to point out any slight negative statistic as a way of rattling and causing pain to those who own this security. They show up around earnings time and try to spread fear. Kumar last quarter and now this Niles guy this quarter. They are careful to pick a statistic out of context and it appears to be true but it is not really meaningful. Nonetheless...
as the Buffettologist James Clarke warned me, there are far too many speculators as opposed to long term investors among Dell's shareholders. They run like frightened animals when someone like Niles makes an unexpected noise.
