Good buy interest late today in Iridium, with a number of large blocks trading on the offer side of the market; stock up $1 3/8 in a sudden burst. Company says no developments; could be short covering or...? No corresponding positive action in GSTRF or ICOGF, so this appears to be company-specific. Newsweek, February 15 issue, page 41 - a beautiful, full page color Iridium ad that says: "The World's First Global Satellite Phone is Ringing...Be the First to Pick It Up." Iridium is delivering on its promise to put the ad campaign back into high gear. Phone availability is apparently improving, and dealers are aggressively offering Iridium products, with one dealer I queried offering immediate shipment upon order receipt. Call quality continues to get better and better. It's as good as, and sometimes better than, cellular service. Jack Morgan
