The hitch in that line of reasoning is the fact, as was posted here I think, that it may well be very difficult to sort out the true cause of many y2k glitches. In fact, many y2k glitches may be inextricably woven into a mesh of other problems and considerations. A blanket legislative indemnification for y2k suits could become embroiled in other legal actions brought to determine where the y2k part of a problem begins and ends, and where negligence, malfecience, and other actionable activities are to blame.
