In defence of sg I, as a former Hamiltonian, can attest to something in the air that might account for such grammer. Then again, it might also be a case of temporary possesion a la Linda Blair and her ilk.

I remember reading about a baseball pitcher who played for the Cardinals and later for the Blue Jays (Ken Dayley I think) who was plagued by a persistent inner ear infection that caused him to be continually dizzy. Hampered his career, and may be endemic to sporting types like Mr. JP, who has more than likely been modest with regards his tennis skills.
