Alex, I check out companies that are about to report earnings ... then I check their charts to see if they are vulnerable ... CSCC and XYLN were real giveaways ... PSFT had such a strong tape so I was just lucky there ... VRTS chart was vulnerable and now AOL ... I got Feb 40 puts in AOL ... If stock tanks 5 pts tomorrow, I'll gain 4 in my puts ... if it rises 5, I'll lose a couple of bucks ... but then AOL has a resistance pt of 44, so even if it rises, I'll just buy more puts. PSFT is looking good again ... I was tempted to buy puts again today but I'll probably wait till the market rallies.
