Thanks for setting me straight about gold! That could could have been a disaster for me. Although, it could hardly be much worse than the recent beatings I've taken from MRNR, BEAM and OLM. Jean, your theory about shorting anything I buy is good one, however, don't short the ones I just mentioned. They've already experienced the ravages of the "Geno effect". If you want give your theory a good test, try shorting CSCO. I bought into it earlier in the week at about 68. The "Geno effect" immediately took hold of CSCO, but only drove it down to 64 as of today. More than likely there is still plenty of room left for shorting in that one. If it catches up to my average lose per stock purchase, you'll do well.

Also Jean, I was interested in your statement that Bre-X is being pushed into selling out to ABX. Several years ago I held a stock called Horshom Corp.(HSM) that had a big stake in ABX (I bought at 14-sold at 7). After I sold, the company changed its name to Trizek Hahn (TZH) and climbed to 24. If you think the Bre-X/ABX deal will fly, maybe I should buy back into it. Peter Monk seems to have turned TZH around. Any opinion on that one?

I've gotta do something! It'll be another couple of months before I get back to Vegas, and these damned welfare checks are just burning holes in my pockets.

What I would really like to do, Joe, is buy back into NOVL again. I don't care that much for the stock, but I really like this thread. It gives me a feeling of safety and security while I'm being screwed by corporate America. However, I'm a little reluctant to buy back into NOVL because I don't want to put your long position in jeopardy. Also, I fear that when the "Geno effect" hits the stock you'd be so pissed off at me that you'd want to hunt me down and kill me.

Please advise!

Gene
