CNBC just did a review on the Pharmaceutical industry with Fred Biddle from WSJ. The report focused on difficulties in drug discovery. The discussed cost and potential to fail and the discussed the failed mergers (SBH/AHP, SBH/GLX, AHP/MTC) and the several pending mergers (HOE/RP, Sanofi/Synthelabo, AstraZeneca, WLA/AGPH).
