Global DataTel Says Its Latin American Network Group Now Exceeds 40,000 Subscribers; Subscriber Base Exceeds Company Projections by 45%

DELRAY BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 1999--Global DataTel, Inc. (OTCBB: GDIS), announced today that its proprietary Latin American online network, e-Latin American On-Line (eLAOL) group now exceeds 40,000 interactive users. An additional 35,000 subscribers are expected to be online before eLOAL's launch date in March 1999.

The company said that eLOAL's initial subscriber base penetration levels projected for pre-launch traffic has exceeded those projections by 45%.

e-Latin American On-Line, a wholly owned subsidiary of Global DataTel, will provide Spanish and Portuguese-language content on the World Wide Web at its portal site, www.elaol.com. The site will also feature e-mail, as well as the most current local, national and international content available.
