Marty, My sources tell me that wafers shipped by RDRT/SMI to MKE were rejected by MKE in the past month. Couldn't find out if they were for desktop or high-performance drives. Was told they couldn't measure up to TDK and Alps. (Yamaha wasn't mentioned.) Fremont wafers were not even considered. They do have a the smaller volume, but higher cost tape drive head contract (DLT stuff) with Quantum. Perhaps that was what she was in a thither over. Regards, LT
