Hi Bill. My take on the comment was that this company (Marum) hasn't spent a lot of money promoting air. They are going for the gusto, with an intelligent, calculated, albeit laborious approach (see their website for indicators found to date, including airmags, surface drill program, follow-up ground samplings, geochems, etc etc).
The goal is the 'steak', not the notorious 'sizzle' so prevalent among penny stocks. This can be achieved through sound management and methodology. But you're right, and I think this is obviously the case in all exploration mining stocks, it is definitely speculative. Some companies are just more serious about attaining stated goals.
Regards, -j :> PS, Marum has already found 2 diamonds on their property (in past: Mar./97-- Consequently, the sample was subjected to caustic dissolution and two diamonds were recovered. Both diamonds are clear and colourless. Grain No. 1 is an octahedral crystal which may be a fragment of a larger grain. Grain No. 1 measures 0.40mm x 0.35mm x 0.20mm. Grain No. 2 is a dodecahedral crystal measuring 0.30 x 0.25mm x 0.30mm. ), - but your point is taken! . . . Now, -- HQ drilling is about begin! FYI, For a view of the type of drill to be used, see the link as mentioned in their last NR here: Some of our shareholders wanted to know what HQ core was so we asked the driller to bring around some new HQ size tools before he left for the field. The photograph of the drill bits are on the project website at mmu.simplenet.com (go to the 'photos/graphics' page) -------- -further- From MMU's new 'Chinchaga Project' Website:
The joint venture project area lies on the Chinchaga Craton of northwestern Alberta. This is an area with a geological pedigree extremely prospective for diamond exploration. The right combination of basement geology, gravity signature, thermal history and structural intensity has been married with successful aeromagnetic, geochemical and geological prospecting to present a highly focused and economical exploration objective. The project is ready to drill. --From: mmu.simplenet.com --
Also, Current Status - February 1999
A systematic exploration program, carried out over 18 months, has progressively advanced the project to a state where coincident and corroborating geological datasets strongly suggest the existence of kimberlite pipes at or near a selected number of target locations. The next objective is to drill a small number of prioritized geological targets. The required action is to select five to ten targets in the highest priority areas and to drill relatively short holes, between 100 and 150 metres deep, to test the targets. Drill permits for selected targets have been received and a February drill program has been initiated. --From: mmu.simplenet.com -- |
