Is Niles in the loop and Wolf out of the loop, then? What'bout ML,CS First Boston,Legg Mason and Dillion Read?

Buster:

Agreed that 'leaks' are a common phenomenon on Wall Street but I doubt Dell has leaked anything, not their style. Now Dogpaq that there is a different story.<g>

So how do you explain this comment by Wolf of Dillon Read,is he out of the loop and Niles has special access to the 'leaks' from Dell, how come Legg Mason,Merrill Lynch,Prudential & CS First Boston weren't in on the 'leak'? Perhaps the 'leaks' from Dell is specifically designed for Dan Niles of Robertson Stevens and Ashok Kumar of Piper Jaffray, you think?

If Dell leaked anything to Niles you can bet I will be one of the signatories of a class actions suit against Dell.

"CHARLES WOLF, TECHNOLOGY ANALYST, WARBURG DILLON READ: Nobody knows what the numbers are. I mean, Dell does not provide guidance on their revenue. It sells direct to its customers, so there's no way to check whether its sales are strong or its sales are weak, other than to get comments from the company that would indicate that. Now, the company's not talking because they're in the quiet period before they report on Tuesday."
