From the online account manager within MCI Worldcom:

Now I'm getting really excited...

What is Online Billing?
With Online Billing you will no longer need to write a check every month. We simply bill your credit card every month. You'll receive an online invoice each month around the same time as the mailed paper invoice you now receive. We'll send you an e-mail that will both confirm the charge to your credit card and notify you that your invoice is ready to be viewed on this site.
Will enrolling in Online Billing automatically change my plan to MCI One Net Savings(sm)?
Enrolling in Online Billing does not mean that your calling plan will change to MCI One Net Savings if you already carry another plan. It simply means that MCI WorldCom(sm) will charge your credit card for MCI WorldCom services each month and notify you with an e-mail message of the amount.

Can I pay my MCI WorldCom bill with my credit card?
If you sign up for credit card payment, you can pay your bill using Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or JCB.

How can I ensure the safety of my credit card information?
MCI WorldCom employs the latest security technology to help protect the confientiality of your data. By using the Netscape Enterprise Server, which utitlizes Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, you can safely and easily enter your credit card number and it cannot be read in transit. Also, when in enrolling in Online Billing, you need only provide your credit card number once. Monthly entering is not necessary. We store your information on our own secure internal database.

What is direct debit?
Direct debit allows you to pay your bill without having to write a check each month by transferring funds directly from your bank account to MCI WorldCom. Any type of financial institution (bank, credit union, saving & loan) can participate in direct debit. Each month your MCI WorldCom statement will clearly list the amount to be deducted from your account. That transaction will occur 12 days after the statement date. Your monthly bank statement will then list a deduction that reflects your payment to MCI WorldCom. If ever you know you do not have sufficient funds to cover your invoice, send us an e-mail to make other arrangements.

What is CheckFree?
CheckFree is the newest online billing and payment option available from MCI WorldCom. This service allows you to view and pay all your electronic bills from one convenient location (e.g. the CheckFree website, your financial institution, or Quicken '98).

BTW, I checked Quicken, and MCI is not yet available for e-bills. I can hardly wait to receive my first e-bill through Quicken
