Consolidation (speculation excercise)

With the STBI acquisition in the wings, who might TDFX be looking to
acquire next? I'm assuming they would want to be the acquiror, and
would like to sow confusion in the ranks of competitors. Who (if
anyone) would make a likely target/fit?

ATI - nah, they're the ones to beat
nVidia - nah, let's call it "culture clash"
S3 - do they have anything that would be useful to TDFX, other
than another lawsuit with which to skewer nVidia?
3D Labs - an acquisition move into the engineering space?
Trident - nah, being sued by Neomagic
Neomagic - is the V3-3500 going to start treading in their space
(laptops)? Does combining Voodoo and Embedded DRAM make any sense?
A Euro or Asian board maker?

Of the above, NeoMagic seems most "plausible". They have marketshare
leading products that would compliment TDFX and STBI, and open OEM
doors not currently on the radar. On the otherhand the market value
of NeoMagic is about 50% larger than TDFX+STBI combined at this point
in time.
