It is well known that in order to continue economic reform in China, political reform must follow to correct social problems (corruption is just one of them). Political reform is under way but is slow. The government think tank argue that a gradual political reform will enable China to avoid what happened to former Soviet Union. The article you cited pointed out that China made significant progress during past years. In order to support your view, you need to prove that further political reform is impossible and therefore the current economic progress (it is spreading form the "showcase" eastern coast area to mid and western China) can't continue. You can easily find such articles. In fact, every year since 1989, I have read articles that predicted the China political/economical system will collapse soon (some predicted that it would happen in a few months). Magazines such as China Spring has such articles all the times. The only problem is, many major US companies disagree and believe China's progress will continue. I guess you need to email your following statement to GM, Boeing, Motorola, etc.. Oh, don't forget Pepsi, they not only invested heavily in China, they decided not to take any profit back and reinvest the profit in China instead.
>Click to read preceding post AGAIN and AGAIN for anyone >contemplating investing in ventures in China including >this one GTCI.
By the way, did it ever occur to you that those companies who invested "in ventures in China" might have hired China experts and have done better research before put billions of dollars in China ?
Ok. I think I have wasted enough time to discuss China related issue with you. You clearly have no desire to do real research and conduct real discussion. Here is just one example on how you conduct "discussion":
You made the following statement:
>The purported "news" about major financial deals and money >coming out of China to me are JUST PLAIN FICTION...
After I point out that US companies do make "major financial deals" and are making a lot money out of China, instead of admitting that your statement was wrong, you made the following statement:
>where in the reality with Globalization the more accurate >statement would be Multi-National Corporation head >quartered in the US and Japan are doing business IN China....
>Remember "IN" not "WITH".....which is a big distinction....
After I replied with the following: ------ "> Remember "IN" not "WITH".....which is a big distinction.... Wrong. Do you know China buys billions dollars of cars, airplanes, satellites, computers (compaq is number 1 seller in china), chemical product from US? Do you know that the entire internet backbone was built with US equipment ? " ------- which clearly point out US companies does do business "WITH" China and are making billions of dollars. Instead of admitting your are wrong, you changed the subject and replied with the following:
>Where are the parts for these items manufactured... >then tell me where they are assembled.... >And then shipped back to...where?
Let's exam your logic here. Take the example of Boeing. Let's say Boeing sells China an airplane. Some parts, more precisely, the tail section, is manufactured and assembled in China and then shipped to US (this is a JV started by MD), Boeing then make the airplane and ship it back to China and make millions dollars of profit in the deal. So you don't call that doing business "WITH" China ? You think that's not a "major financial deal" ? You don't think there is "money coming out of China" in that deal and "money coming out of China" is "JUST PLAIN FICTION"?
It is clear that you totally disregarded facts and logic in above example. I shall not waste my time doing this kind of "discussion" any more. Sorry if I don't respond to your further post.
