Putting that Barron's article to rest...(soon)...but, the thing that distorted the article is not just the CMGI split--GCTY and LCOS raced ahead; gcty from $37 on 1/4 to $82 on 1/12, Lcos from $57 to $143 in same time....so the article was so far off it wasn't funny...for Barron's to publish those remarks from the "roundtable" held earlier without editorial clarification is awful...geesh! and now, NY Times and Bloomberg poke fun at CMGI trying to protect their shareholder's "fair value." You also said,>>>the task of determining fair value for these internet stocks remains a mix of math, magic and guess work<<< Yes, but with CMGI, a large chunk is accounted for with these two holdings...it is also encouraging that their cost basis for GCTY and LCOS are so low. I think I will continue to let them perform their own mystical Internet magic.
