I think the complaints you have are really with the TV shows or businesses.

Average citizens think it is the "duty" of the journalist on a show to present both sides of a issue. If they want to have a expert that trashes a stock there is nothing wrong with that - in fact that's what they are there for. However, we feel they have a duty as "journalist" to have the opposite view as well.

So there should have been a bull there as well as a bear.

Well, here's the problem: they are not journalists.

They are advertising salespeople.

If Bozo the clown showed up, ran the show, and said things that were totally stupid but he got a enormous rating, you can be guaranteed he would be new show host. They know that won't work so they take off the make-up and dress him in a suit.

Anyhow, you know the story - balanced points of view are educational, not shocking, and the kiss of death to a company in the business of broadcasting/printing advertisements.

Broadcasting or printing ads is the business. The stuff in between the ads is just bait to get you to hang around and see the ad.

However....These people have been known to respond to grass roots campaigns that strongly criticize their show and give it a bad name. Especially if it is a public company and a lot of posts start appearing before the eyes of stock buyers on their thread and in other public forms. I once had a problem with a ISP that was a public business. They refused to handle a problem I had with their service. A few strong posts on their SI thread and I had a phone call from a manager who made sure my problem was taken care of. Something along these lines might be a good way use your time & energy.
