And does he own an Orb (since you can't even get one yet)? Makes you wonder whether or not he even owns a Mac.

You might also try comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.storage (I haven't been there in a while, so I don't know if you'll really find good advice or not). I would think that they would have more good tech information and less spouting off than an alt group (although this is not necesarily the case).

IMHO (and don't take this as a slam) you might need to find somebody else with a SparQ to read the disks and put the information on a big hard drive which you then put directly into your computer or (Heaven forbid) Jaz disks (which entails a greater monetary investment, but is now the only feasable removable drive solution). There are also companies springing up which will perform this service for a fee.
