This company is being treated as if it has no lasting power.

The reason I invested in Deswell years ago was the low PE and high growth. Obviously that growth has taken a large hit. Now annualize the earnings and the company is trading at or above the multiple afforded to its mainland peer group.

What surprised me additionally is some of the business is starting to bounce back for US circuit board makers. It is a highly competitive low margin business, but Deswell must be loosing market share to the depressed countries in Southeast Asia. Can that market share be recovered? Or is it time to rationalize the entire business line.

What is the downside? How much cash per share is on the balance sheet? Quite frankly I traded out of Deswell when I read the pr. First, because I was hoping their would be a correction which would allow me to get back in at 6 or 7. Second, It allows time for Deswell to communicate how they intend to address the errosion.

But I personally no longer consider Deswell a steal under $12.
