delusional no - but...
you know what really made me think about what you had to say? when we discovered my grandmother (actually, i think it ws my great-grandparents) was jewish and escaped from the pogroms (russian religious persecution) in the early 1910's, i started researching what it meant to be a jew... i wasn't raised jewish because when my great-grandparents came to america, during a time when they were afraid to admit to Judaism, it was not smart to be jewish (in the midwest) and as immigrants they decided to reside where nobody would question their faith - but there were no shuls (synagogues) so they worshipped with their neighbors, afraid that if they admitted to being jewish, they'd be exported! hence, i was raised in the christian beliefs (with jewish blood) and have always felt something was missing... especially when my brother died suddenly and G-d, in my Episcopal church, abandoned me!
so, upon researching, i converted over a year ago and have never been happier... moral to this story - G-d isn't only found in Christianity but also in Judaism and... being Jewish helps one to feel special by doing what G-d believes in as well as taking the ordinary soul and making it pious. who said Jesus is the only one to save my soul? now who is delusional... |
