Spark - the best way to cure a sick thread is to abandon it for awhile, the bashers get bored and disappear to rain on other parades,
then the thread becomes well again. (At least temporarily.)
Also, some say that not responding to a constant irritation will work, I have yet to see a thread that can accomplish that. Some new person will come along and respond or a regular will get too outraged to stay silent any longer.
Maybe the answer is to find what the bashers like, and then several fed up posters go over to their favorite picks,(if they have any), and rip it to shreds....team tag so to speak. I have seen it work wonders. After all, turn around is fair play.
Have you ever noticed that poster's who use all caps in their names are often obnoxious, ignorant, pains in the a**? I cannot give you any of the names for fear that I might summon them from the depths of banal darkness.
Too bad SI still does not have an ignore feature, that works great, you can't even see the ignored's posts.
Anyway, perhaps a vacation from the thread while investors wait for real developements is in order to clear this dog of ticks and fleas.
