They do find relief when the killers die- because while someone lives there is always the possibility that they will be released. Let me give you a personal example. members.xoom.com This man shot my father and some wonderful people I knew. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity. Now he wants out- and when he gets out there will be no record of his murders because he was found not guilty by reason of insanity. He should have been executed- he should never be free. When you take lives without a good excuse you forfeit your own- I see no reason to keep around dangerous individuals- like this one- who are clearly guilty. I don't want to execute the borderline cases where there is no hard proof- there are enough murderers caught red handed with special circumstances to keep us busy.
