Hey Elwood, even I had some fun with Gene P. on the Dell thread last night. I asked him why he left off his signature 'Compaq is good, Dell is better' line off his postings yesterday <ggg>. I'll check out Barron's today and post, I would think they might have mentioned the boxmakers. The Dell thread is getting VERY TOUCHY, they want to sue poor old Dan Niles.. I must admit, it did not bother me TOO much to see Dell at the bottom of my percentage losers list on SI this morning....

John

PS - Perhaps 'Sir Vinny' can retain Johnny Cochran, at which time the rallying cry will become 'IF THE NUMBERS DON'T FIT, YOU MUST ACQUIT!!'

CLASS ACTION SUIT!!!!!

Have been following this thread for a while. Just now subscribed to SI to get my two
cents in.

I'm really pee'd off at what has happened in the past week. First Acampora and now
two two-bit analysts with inflamed egos trying to make a name for themselves by voicing
their opinions on DELL's performance as if it were based on fact. I lost thousands of
dollars today simply because a so-called wall street analyst "THINKS" Dell will only
post sales of $5.2 billion, $300 million short of expected. Are these analysts Psychics?
Did Dell's accounting department forward an advanced copy of the financials to these
two soothesayers? Or did they simply conjure up some numbers and came up with an
educated guess???

IMO the whole profession of analysts, and I use the term loosely since I don't want to
offend the true professions, should be banned or at least their opinions should be
restricted to after the earnings are posted and their analysis is based on facts rather than
conjecture.

I equate the events of today to that of an idiot running into a movie theater filled to
capacity and calously yelling out FIRE FIRE FIRE without any consideration to the
injuries that resulted from his false cry of panic.

In the event that DELL strongly surpasses the expectations on Tuesday and clearly
shows that these two analysts were blatantly wrong in their estimates, I am
contemplating the idea of charging these psychic wannabees with Negligence..

I therefore ask my confreres on this thread to express your opinion concerning a
CLASS ACTION SUIT against these analysts and the baffoons who hired them.

Really, and I mean really ticked off tonight,

SirVinny
