Dallas Semiconductor is listed as a stock to study in Feb 97 Better Investing Magazine, p. 16. "Extensive product diversity. Significant overseas sales. Solid financials. Considerable research and development. Niche markets with somewhat lighter competition. A growing Industry. Sound appealing? While not everything about Dallas Semiconductor is picture-perfect, there are good reasons to recommend its study. Featured as BI's Undervalued Stock in July 1996, it then carried a P/E of 14.3, below the company's five year average P/E of 15.4. Seemingly underpriced, it was a good candidate for gaining 15-20 percent within 18 months. At a recent price of 24 7/8, Dallas has achieved more than that gain, and now appears to be an attractive long term growth prospect." Better Investing Magazine is a monthly published by NAIC. BG
