Look at the very high cost structure that SE has. I just got annual report and attached 10Q and spent a lot of time studying it. SGA expenses increasing faster than revenues and in my opinion really bloated but R&D spending increasing less than revenues. A new nimble company needs none of this overhead if cXML can truly be used for supply chain since the entire business plan from the start can be based on leveraging the WEB and money can be spent in R&D where it belongs.

cXML is all new stuff though so SE still has a chance. Did you know that 54% of all SE revenues for 1998 came from mainframe stuff? About the same as in year 1997.

I am also concerned about the lack of objective board members. The SE board is filled with all the old deadwood from Sterling software. I am voting against the two directors up this time. SE needs to get fresh blood in there.

Good luck to us all as I sure am down on this one.
