This tells me all I need to know:

"We've been cautious about Dell since last quarter," said Alex Mou, junior analyst at BancBoston Robertson Stephens. "Their revenue was a little bit short of expectations but they managed it pretty well." The firm predicts fourth-quarter sales will be $5.2 billion, short of its previous forecast of $5.5 billion.

I've met analysts at BBRS before. You get to be a "junior" analyst by having a college degree and finishing a three month internship about working the xerox machine, ordering deli sandwiches for the "senior" analysts, discovering what elevator banks get you to the proper floor (and which buttons to press), and learning where to buy your power tie and matching imitation Rolex watch.

Oh boy. That kind of experience and disregard for the implications of pontificating non-documented opinions that come out of nowhere is worse than a newly-licensed 16 year old taking the 600SL out "to go just to the library for a study group" on a Friday night.

Best regards,

Mark A. Peterson
