Hi Ole49r, I am a good customer of my nearby coin shop and he is now selling 1/10's for $45 ea. The last couple I bought for $42 ea. I know I could get them cheaper elsewere by mail but I wanted to establish a good rapport with the guy and I can't buy more than a few at a time-along with my regular silver purchases (I have been dollar cost averaging). I have locked in 10 more at $45. as they tell me that they are cleaned out but are expecting another allotement in a week and will set them aside for me. He didn't know about the problems at the mint so I filled in the blanks for him. My question is this. If I can't get any more 1/10's, which other small-denom coin should I go with that would be as nearly recognizable and negotiable as Eagles? I know you are partial to found and placer gold, but I have no time to go out and hunt that stuff up. Anyway, there aren't too many prime placer deposits in Massachusetts <VBG> (I know one or two in Vermont, but they are old worked out spots). TIA!
