I remember that! DavidG and I were loaded up or in the process of loading up on MU when TK came out with his downgrade, warning, or whatever it was. I held on anyway , and the stock went to about 31...that's when TK slammed us again and I got shaken out at about 28/29, but after that one day jolt the stock recovered and went to about 38 (so yes, I never did like TK after that <gg>)... I think DavidG got all of that run, and I can't remember if I jumped back in for some of it....
Anyway, I think TK was right about the semi downturn by his continual reminders that it was not the time for going long. MU certainly did back off and then retested its lows last October. I picked it up again (because of Shane....even though I bet he didn't himself <g>) and added to it at about 34 when I saw that it was going to run again. Same with INTC (also because of Shane)... I watched them both. However, one thing that has surprised me is how quickly the semi-equips recovered as well, whereas Shane and I agreed that their day would come sometime after the manufacturers. There just isn't that much of a lapse, I guess. Or, maybe most investors don't see the difference between the two groups of semis....? ....anyway, beats me...
Finally, it is very interesting to hear this news about TK. I was just looking at the charts on MU thinking that this is looking like the real thing. A huge double bottom is now in place, and I was just wondering what TK's call would be this time.
As for LSI, this site shows earnings sre expected to be lower in 1999, but thereafter the estimates are showing a nice recovery. I wonder what will happen if the darn company surprises us in 1999? Hey, I can dream, can't I?!
