Yes, Prior to the overstocking incident last year analysts were saying bad things. The Digital move was not smiled upon. The thread did not have a high opinion of them.

Then EM confirmed the inventory problem, things got bad. Some people wanted to lynch steve. steve was a big CPQ bull, but had warned everyone to buy cheap puts before each earnings announcement. He did and made a mint on the price drop. steve turned into hpeace and quit posting on SI due to a new job that didn't allow him to post.

EP and EM were roundly abused, and some law firms sought class action suits on the thread.

A number of people sold their shares and moved on. A number of them could be found on the Dell thread. I have a feeling a number of those people bailed on Dell Friday.

Every thread whose stock has a hard time or very bad news goes through about the same thing. I was on a thread where some vulture financing was done. The thread split into holders and sellers within an hour. It got real ugly. What you are seeing on the Dell thread is mild compared to that.
