Fred - Re: Kurlak & " He downgraded Intel when it was in the 80's then finally upgraded Intel AFTER it had run up from 70 to over 110. "
You left out the "final straw" that Kurlak used to "kill" himself.
In November/December, with Intel soaring, Kurlak UPGRADED AMD, so the Merill Lynch customers could "get in " on AMD at $29 - $32.
And what did Tommy do for the Merrill customers? He saw AMD announce a $0.04 earnings SHORTFALL in mid- January ! AMD's stock PLUMMETED to $21.
Undaunted, Kurlak regurgitated AMD's conference call gobbledy-gook, making it sound like Kurlak had a private one-on-one with Cherry Sanders, and in late January, he got MORE MERRILL LYNCH customers into AMD at $24 to $25 when he reiterated his STRONG BUY on AMD.
Only a week later, AMD issued their LOSS AHEAD forecast, plummeting their stock to $16 - $17, making Kurlak look like just what he is - a clueless suit stuck in Manhattan, with NO CLUE WHAT IS GOING ON in Silicon Valley and with a HOST of Merrill CLients as AMD LOSERS and another HOST OF Merrill Clients that missed a 60 dollar ride UP in Intel.
Kurlak was told to get out of Merrill.
Pure and simple.
He turned out to be WORSE than my lucky nickel.
Bye, Bye Tommy - hope you get a Tiger By The tail !
