help me if i don't get this quite right.

there are currently three types of rambus memory:

            base concurrent direct

MHz 600 700 800

bandwidth 600 700 1.6G

there are more advanced rambus memories in the pipeline.

the original timeline was for rdram to be in max 5% of PCs this year 20-30% next year. i do not recall that it was any particular one of the three memories. now we have estimates of as high as 30% by the end of this year and over 50% next year. intel is giving away $100's of millions to speed up the process. why is anyone surprised at little glitches along the way? the hardest thing to do in any new endeavor is start the ball rolling. does it really make any difference which rambus memory starts the ball rolling? why aren't we all thrilled at the good news?

i enjoyed the 70's party in palo alto. anybody for an 80's party?
