Dear Nancy, I hesitate to reply because Alan has ask me not to post to him anymore and I promised I would honor that request. But I see in you a tenderness that shines forth, and since you posted to me I will return the honor.
Isn't it great that we can write in kindness? The world would be a far different place if we all followed the teachings of The Bible.
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." (Eph 4:29 NIV)
"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption." (Eph 4:30 NIV)
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice." (Eph 4:31 NIV)
"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." (Eph 4:32 NIV)
"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children" (Eph 5:1 NIV)- (actually imitators can be translated as "copycats")
"and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." (Eph 5:2 NIV)
"In loving kindness Jesus came, my soul in mercy to reclaim". Beautiful words from a song.
May the love of Jesus fill your heart to overflowing.
