Thanks, Sherry, so glad you liked the poem. Laurence Hope's poems tend to have an exotic flavour to them. Neruda's poems seem to be very popular on SI, this one I enjoyed very much. I can't recall who, but someone posted it to me on Favorite Quotes awhile back. I thought it was beautiful and still does... ze gyp
