William: Thanks for the the "thought food". As I said this past month, I've tried AOL and CompuServe (I never did like Prodigy). Of the two, AOL runs smoother, has better graphics, and the customer services are by far the best.

Each morning I listen to the CNBC while getting ready for work and caught something about AOL going to a flat rate. Have you heard anything about that? If that's correct, then I could be won away from my present local Internet provider, which is no small thing because I have quite good relationship with this company. If I would consider this, a whole lot of other people would too.

You know two years ago I thought CompuServe was the greatest thing since ice cream - and AOL came loaded into my machine. But their pricing system was too confusing and costly for my little budget. AOL just ran away with the market with their giving away of their software (I had to buy CompuServe's). If they go on a flat rate, I'm definately a solid customer [so much for local company loyalty - hey, I need a faster CPU. You gotta save where you can :) ]
