Excerpted Interview with Frederick Wise of Bear Stearns

(Excerpted from Wall St Transcript, Jan 13, 1997)

"Cambridge Heart is one of the most exciting companies that I've
learned about in the last year. The company's technology truly
has the long-term potential to change profoundly outcomes for
patients with cardiac arrhythmias using a concept called T-wave
alternans." (There are 500,000 incidents per year of which only
50,000 to 75,000 people survive.)

A particular study in the New England Journal of Medicine suggested
that T-wave was exactly comparable to the invasive electrophysiology
procedure (ie where a catheter is threaded into the heart to measure
the electrical currents of the heart). "...If this proves out, I think
this would be one of the major breakthroughs that I've encountered
as a medical technology analyst."

Currently there are 6 major studies under way, some of which should
be finished by end of 1997.

To all seriously interested parties I recommend reading the article
in its entirety.
