Are you referring to network computing with thin clients. A friend with IBM tells me he feels this is the wave of the future in corporations to reduce administrative costs. Perhaps he's biased since he now works in the mainframe division. Still isn't clear to me that it doesn't make sense to have a disk drive in the client (but one that the user can't alter).
Anyone have a good feel for which way this battle is likely to play out?
