Well; My final judgement on the quality of beer was the type of hangover it gave, ( I'll spare you the details ) now mind you not the degree of hangover as that could vary with the amount consumed, but I could tell a differance in the type of hangover. I do think the Big breweries no matter how fresh, and or clean they were found ways to "rush" the process, and as they did over the years American bear lost a lot of it's original quality. I remember a non premium brand on the east coast, Burger Beer, that even in the 60ts was a better bear than the permium ones. Bud came out with a sort of cut rate to compeat with them on price, but I can't recall the name just now, I still think it was BUD but just put in another can, so as they wouldn't have to cut price on the brand name. Burger was better, but I drank a lot of BUD as one of my uncles was head of some thing in the sales department in that area. But I only drank it when he was around, when he wasn't looking I'd go for the Buger. ---------- I loved Sundays back in them days, the church people had some sort of No beer on Sundays law past. Now that's when you found out who had back rooms and where you could hang out with other criminals.
It seemed to make the bear taste better, really it did ! I enjoyed them Sunday mornings better than the Saterday Nights. It was sort of spirtual in it's own way, and we had our own kind of church, shucks you knew you were baptised when you could be one of good old boys in the back room. <G> ---------- Jim
