Bob, I have not heard the sames rumor as to an IPO for Brocade and I, too, live in the Boston area. I wonder what real advantage that sucha move would bring to EMC, although I known little about Brocade, and I have seen zero announcements concerning any customers that McData may have outside of EMC.

That being said, I can see two possible impacts on Ancor or an IPO. If the mcData switch is superior, that move might bring significant publicity to that superiority, to the detriment of Ancor. In addition, the IPO valuation in terms of price/sales might be some indication that Ancor is undervalued, or overvlaued, at its current price.

Going back to whether, on what basis would EMC IPO its captive, Brocade?
