Re: Question to All on MSN

You come across as a MSFT spy...so I'll answer this way.

I saw the big 2 page spread in the newspapers this week on MSN. I liked it...but I knew it was an MS ad, and what it was selling. The problem with it was that AOL users do not read any PC Mags, so they don't know that this is how you guys advertise, and....if you can't get the users to recognize your IPS type product, how the heck do you think investors will take notice?

In your FACE ads work on the typical home PC user. It will get people to know your MSN service exists.

Think about it. AOL mailed out about 10 diskettes to every PC user in the US/Canada before they hooked someone. In fact, I'm going to Europe in a few weeks and will be joining AOL since I need a dial up in the UK, and AOL has more dialups than MSN.

In order for investors to even consider MSN as a potential money maker, they need to spin it off, (or appear to be doing so) and partner with ATT, @home, Sprint, Worldcomm, ZDTV, and give free 90 days of service if you switch from AOL or another ISP, with first 20 hours free each month, and only $ 1 hour afterwords. That will give you some money, and MSFT can afford this agressive campaign.

This would do two things.

1: Give you 6 months to get your dialup @#$% and content together still
2: Give you access to millions of users
3: Use the millions you're spending to get users, rather than tell users.
