Thanks for your reply. I was able to partially re-install some windows 95 items previously without a total re-install. And, I even tried to do a tape restore of directories previously backed up, but this didn't help my solve my current problem. The recylcle bin is definitely mucked up and there must be files in there, I believe hidden ones which I probably need to restore to get this machine to stop sputtering and running smoothly again.

Or, what the heck, I can go out and buy a new one with 4 times the MHZ Win 98 etc. for a lot less than I paid for this one. Something Bill Gates and Michael Dell would probably encourage me to do. {g}
