I am very turned off by Falwell, and every other televangelist I have ever seen. Chris uses a German phrase for them, "scheinheilig," it's a combination of "schein" = "shine" and "heilig" = "holy," but it means having a phony holy saintly look. I don't think Falwell is charismatic at all, I think he is so fake, but that's the way I feel about Clinton, too. And I really liked Reagan, so maybe you shouldn't trust my perceptions.
I agree about Grodin, and I do like Tim Russert, but my least favorite is Geraldo, and my most favorite is Chris Matthews on Hardball. Tim Russert is more polished, and more polite, but Chris Matthews stands up to people when they spout BS. |
