First off, I agree that "at the consumer level" they will not know about the current 600 MHz/800 MHz deployment issue. But I do not think it is that simple- it might turn out to be that simple, but the real issue is will the OEM's embrace the 600 MHz "lite" product in a big way!? I don't know.

I agree that a lot of progress has been made in putting the infrastructure in place to produce RDRAM-- going forward though, the real determinant of success or failure will be OEM support and emphasis-- the consumer sort of just buys what is out there (for the most part).

Again, just because a company signs a licensing agreement does not mean they will concentrate "the bulk of their resources" on RDRAM deployment. They very well may do just that, they very well may not. I think people miss this point. INTC is not only a lock but a given- we all know this.

Agan, not saying it won't happen, just concerned that the longer deployment drags on, the better chance a competing technology could get a foot in the door!
