Dave,

I hope you are right, seriously. Your thinking about OEM support of 600 MHz makes sense, let's hope it transpires that way.

My posts are a combination of my personal concerns and those concerns that I think others should think about instead of blindly thinking "everything is alright". Call me altruistic. <gg>

It is my way of thinking through issues and problems. I also look for posts from the thread to help sort it out or bring up other issues that I have missed. I am opinionated and probably come across as combative, but if I am wrong or do not understand something, I often times change my tune. I appreciate any feedback-- yours and others. But I will fight back! <gg>

This is a simplified view as to what has happened as it relates to supply chain issues:

1- RMBS develops technology breakthrough (years ago)- completed
2- RMBS must gain chip maker support for new standard, INTC signs on - completed
3- Broad industry support must be gained- completed
4- Infrastructure must be put in place to manu RDRAM- almost complete, complete enough.
5- OEM support must be obtained- completed
6- OEM's must finalize and publicly announce plans to implement and deploy RDRAM technology- not complete yet
7- Corporate IT market and, eventually, consumer market must embrace RDRAM as breakthrough technology they just "gotta have" thereby driving demand for product- not complete.

Point 6 is where we are at and will be the next pieces of the puzzle that need to fall into place. It should happen, but when? No one knows. Soon I would think. Such as DELL announces actual ship dates, CPQ the same, AMD, etc... These press releases will move the stock up- not much else IMHO.

Regards,

MileHigh
