I find this sentence amusing:
Guitar player for a techno-pop band
Yeah , thats where you find all the great guitar players < VBG >
There is a lot of mention of IOM products in this months PC Computing, my favorite is on the Editors A-List Picks page. Top of the page :
DEARLY DEPARTED... With the bankruptcies of Syquest, maker of the Sparq 1.0 gb, and Avitar Peripherals, inventor of the Shark 250mb, Iomega is poised to expand its already massive share of the removable storage market. And it won't stop at the desktop. Look for Iomega to build Zip drives into printers, scanners, medical equipment, set-top boxes, and more.
On the TOP Picks of 450mhz Screamers the article before the list states " Most feature Zip or Superdisk drives. In the PRO's and Con's list any computer that doesn't have one are the other lists " No removable storage ". I assume they have 1.44mb floppies. So at least people are beginning to recognize more removable storage as a necessity. There is also a lot of talk of new storage devices on the drawing board by multiple companies, even Sony. So I believe when Mr. Glore announced this quarter might be break even, not only was he being conservative since this is the slow quarter for consumer electronics , but probably down playing the future of removable storage to keep the competition at a minimum. JMHO.
