A 4 second delay is acceptable to you?

My ISP gives me similarly lousy service and it costs me a lot more time than my 28.8K modem. They also offer ADSL through the teloco monopoly, but I'm not signing up because I don't want the 4 second delays. I get my TV thru Dish and the 7100 WebTV product might be available this summer, but I won't tolerate a 4 second delay there, either.

Is DirecPC my only hope? Or, is there no hope at all?
